WEEK 60: Strength in Members!!

Aloha family,

I don't really have much to say besides I miss you all! Halloween was a blast and we carved some sick pumpkins. I have a new companion: elder Featherstone and he's amazing. I wanted to express the importance of members and the power that you all possess. Your testimonies are powerful and you all bring a spirit that can't be denied. Because of members we got three people to church. Because of members we put a 13 year old kid on date for baptism. Because of members we had a bomb lesson about the book of Mormon and got a hug from it too. You members need to do missionary work. You don't need to be a missionary to share the gospel. You don't need to wear the badge to talk about christ and invite others to follow him. You don't need the missionary clothes to attract attention to yourself of why you glow. So please, go share the gospel and invite all you know to partake of this wonderful gospel.

 2 Timothy 1 :7-8

7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord...

A lot of stuff has happened these past couple of weeks. My papa (my dad's dad) has been in the ICU for a week now because he contracted covid and pneumonia and it's been attacking his lungs bad. He spent all last week on a ventalator but because of miracles and prayer he is off but still on an oxygen machine this is supllying him with sufficient levels of oxygen. He is still in the ICU but is still fighting this tough battle! This weekend was crazy because we had a huge ice storm that froze everything with a thick layer of ice everywhere! Even all the blades of grass were frozen! Due to the storm we lost power for a whole day and it was so cold inside. WEEK 11: He's got the Monkeys!!! A bunch of monkeys!!

My companion got really sick this past week because he ate a mango from a guy off the street. So we were stuck in the house for a couple days because my comp was throwing up, had bad bowel problems, and he had a fever. So he was sleeping a lot and it gave me a lot of free time. So I took this time to study the language, read preach my gospel and the book of mormon, and read a lot of other books and watch movies in portuguese. It was really really fun... nah it was kind of boring to be stuck in the house, but it was good to have more time to study the words of God. This week we had lunch with a member and it was his birthday so he had a huge bbq. We had a lot of meat and rice and beans and a bunch of juice.
