Aloha family,

I hope all is well with everyone and I pray that everyone is staying safe with everything going on. This week was different as you probably can tell from my title haha. There are a bunch of wildfires in oregon and surrounding oregon, so oregon has been covered in a cloud of smoke this whole week. Fortunately I have been ok but some missionaries have had to evacuate because of how close the fires got. Luckily they made it out safely and they are safe and sound with other missionaries. The air quality is hazardous outside so they put us in lockdown until further notice. But at least we have been able to make some funny videos. So I would like to talk about faith for a little bit because it has been on my mind for a while. I might have talked about this before but it's always a good reminder;) so we learn in ether 12:6 and also Hebrew 11 that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith. Faith is power and we increase our faith by being obedient. There are two types of faith. Type 1 faith is the mind. This is when you first start off searching for the truth but you still have doubts. This is when faith is a part of you because you believe but doubt. Type 2 is the heart. When you have faith in your heart it becomes you. You dont just have this power YOU are power. You don't doubt because you know and you have an assurance. You have unshaken faith that shines like the sun. This is the type of faith we need as disciples of Christ and also children of our Heavenly Father. Look for ways this week on how you can obtain this type of faith! I love you all and pray for you always! Keep the faith and keep on going no matter where you are in life. I'll talk to you all next week!

Aloha,

Elder Nawahine
