WEEK 3 - Gift of Tongues.....Maybe not da Ear!!

---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Iosepa Nawahine <iosepa.nawahine@missionary.org> Date: Tue, Sep 24, 2019 at 3:54 PM Subject: dom de linguas ola minha familia I miss you all and hope you are all doing well. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you guys and pray for you guys. This week has been pretty difficult with the classes, the language, and the food but I've gotten through it. We had a couple of people in our district go to the hospital this week because of heart problems and falling down the stairs lol. Luckily they all came back safely and all doing good now. This week we also started TRC which is where you and your companion teach an investigator, whos a teacher, and give them the lessons in portuguese. It went pretty good except we didn't catch the part where her son died.... so yeah we struggled the first time, but we've been doing better. The language is coming along pretty well I have the first vision in portuguese memo

---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Iosepa Nawahine <iosepa.nawahine@missionary.org> Date: Tue, Sep 17, 2019 at 3:56 PM Subject: The atonement of Jesus Christ Hola Minha Familia,      I hope everything is going well for everybody. It's officially been three weeks since I left home and I can't explain how fast everything is happening. Days start to feel like hours after a while. Sometimes you feel like you don't have have enough time to do things. The food down here is very interesting. We get sandwiches everyday for breakfast, rice and beans for lunch and dinner, but my personal favorite thing we get is Guarana. Guaruna, for those who don't know, is a brazilian drink that you can only get in Brazil and it's so good. The elders in my district drink it all the time and probably even too much...  So I testify that O dom de linguas (gift of tongues) is real for those who are worthy and work hard. I am definitely not fluent yet neither am I

WEEK 1 - FOB status!

From: Iosepa Nawahine <iosepa.nawahine@missionary.org> Date: Tue, Sep 10, 2019 at 3:53 PM Subject: 1st week in Brazil Ola minha familia e amigos,       I have made it one full official week in the Brazil MTC, and it has honestly been a blast but really busy. Our schedules are packed with language classes, personal study, and companion study as well. My companion is Elder Brock from Arizona. He is an awesome companion and is always happy no matter what the activity lol. So me and my companion room with these other two missionaries from utah and Arizona and they are so funny. Our first night in Brazil was one of our scariest nights and funniest. One of the other companions in our room was sleeping on the top bunk and somehow he fell off lol. It woke all of us up and literally was the funniest thing ever. When we woke up the next morning he thought it was all a dream haha. So I do not have much time to email this week due to some technical difficulties haha, but just know
Alma Chapter 42 - Alma the younger is speaking to his son Corianton and teaches him of the atonement and then gives him these last fatherly words of wisdom. 31  And now, O my son, ye are called of God to  preach  the word unto this people. And now, my son, go thy way, declare the word with truth and soberness, that thou mayest  bring   souls unto repentance, that the great plan of mercy may have claim upon them. And may God grant unto you even according to my words. Amen.

September 3rd.  19 years ago we were blessed from our Heavenly Father and Iosepa was born.  His Papa gave him the name of Imiloapiliahi.  How ironic that our son left to serve the Lord on his birthday.  What a tribute to our Heavenly Father to give back 2 years of his life.  Love you son.  We'll miss you.  But this is where you need to be.  Go Hard!  Love you.
